Guh, my health is really getting bad lately: I struggled for long weeks to get better but it seems I'm already getting ill again. T__T It must be the shitty weather or something because it was terrible like that at the same period last year: all kind of health troubles were pilling up on me. *pouts* Oh well. ^^

I wanted to make a b-day present for dear bimbomushi but I fail at life so I'm a month late...(=__=)

A couple of fanarts dedicated to zhangsizheng's wonderful YonKaka & Kakashi centric fanfictions "Antipodean: Artemis Arrant" & "On The Sad Height". Strangely enough, it seems I focused on the stories featuring Sakumo...xD (Sakumo is ♥~)

I haven't posted anything in a while. RL is a bit complicated right now and it's hard to have time for myself, less of all to sit at the computer and to just draw.
I also simply have been lacking the motivation necessary to finish the stuffs I've started... There are still few others half-made fanarts dusting on my hard drive that I desperate to see completed one day (for I'm quick to lose interest in a picture if I leave it for too long). TT_TT
It took AGES to really finish those (especially the last one): I couldn't come with something satisfying me so I endlessly readjusted details again & again.
I guess this maniac side of me doesn't help much for being productive, too. xD

All of this to say that, without bimbomushi's kind words of encouragement, I wouldn't have posted or even finished them. It made me want to make something worth her faith in me! xDDD Though I clearly feel awful when I think she had to see those horrible half-done versions I sent her back then. @_@ At that time, I thought I was nearly done but I just remade everything. o_O

Ah...it's been ages since I last drawn anything that I'm not too desperate with the crappiness of. Honestly, I'm still very unsure of this piece (I think the composition quite sucks and that it's just plain boring) but well...I liked painting Kakashi's face or some other details here and there and I guess I won't be able to do much better at the moment. *sigh*
I don't know if I should feel glad or sad: I took advantage of few days of respite from the pain to draw this. I thought, at first, that the crisis was finally over but now the pain is already back in all my joints (and especially my fingers) and I don't know if I'll be able to draw much more anytime soon. I'm just so fucking tired. =__=

On the brighter side, I had fun trying a different way to paint here: no matter what, experimenting is the funniest thing for me. This time, I relied more on the pen tablet (but in a completely blunt way) than on the possibilities of my graphic ware. I realize that my usual method of coloring is usually too systematic and uniform...so the result looks all the more artificial. In reality, the messier you work, the most natural it actually looks, imho.
The only problem is that photoshop still hates my method of work: I reached again the limit of layers allowed for a file of this size! xD *lol* So I don't think I could recommend my method of work to anybody because my organization is hell of a mess! ^^; Opening one of my work file to have a look at the layers/files hierarchy is...a scary experience! XDDD

No "good resolutions" from me this year...again (I really don't see the point in making some promise I won't keep in the end...^0^;;) But I DO hope I'll make a LOT more fanarts this year! *fire burning in her eyes* It started well enough anyway: I managed finishing 2 fanarts with the passing to the New Year. :D

I've been drawing/painting a lot recently (to the point I was glued to my pen tablet ^^) but not much is worth posting...*mumbles* Anyway! The 2 first ones are a bit older stuff: I've just been too lazy to post the links before. Ouch...I'm nursing the mother of all headaches right now so I won't comment about those. *winces in pain*

Well, I wanted to separate the posting of these two fanarts because they're pretty special to me. It's been a long while since I last draw anything related to the manga NARUTO and I now realize how I've missed it. It's been ages I did last read the manga and I miss that, too. *chuckles* I have to plan some intensive reading session soon!

Anyway, this is the first time I'm drawing fanart based upon a fanfic. But, for some reason, after reading Bimbomushi's totally marvelous "Hours Before Dawn" fanfic, my head was so filled with images of scenes she painted in her story (her writing style is so vivid that it feels like watching a movie scene play before your eyes) that I really was itching to draw something.

I didn't dare trying at first because I was very, very scared to betray her work by a possible misinterpretation on my part of a scene/symbol (since the story is still ongoing, there's still a lot we don't know about, plot-wise). I was shy about putting any kind of details with my first fanart (the Kakashi one) because of that very fear (also, due to my lack of internet, I couldn't read back the story and have references for the exact details of said scenes T__T).
I was a little more daring with my 2nd try, the Yondaime fanart, but as a result, I was all the more scared! *lol* I'm sure I made TONS of awful nonsenses and I feel so, soooo bad about it, really. T__T It's embarrassing.

On a side note, I'm pretty happy with the result, esthetically-wise. It feels like I'm improving a little. I tried a different style and method and I hope it works. At first, I was quite happy with my Kakashi fanart when I finished it but after I completed my Yondaime one, my poor Kakashi artwork looked so plain in comparison... T__T *sniff* Why~~? I think it's my most satisfying artwork so far. *nods* All the more because I felt so happy when drawing it. After the pain I felt with my previous fanart, it was like salvation. For this reason, I'll be forever grateful to Bimbomushi ♡

She's a very very talented writer and I can only recommend you to read her fanfics. Her wonderful Yondaime x Kakashi stories will get you hooked up! They're full of realism, coherency, subtlety, raw emotion and with a nice twist of humor to balance everything. It's achingly beautiful...is what came to my mind more than once when I read her words. *serious nod*

I still have lot of troubles with my internet connection...which starts to really SUCK! *sigh*
Really, I didn't even managed to stay connected long enough to post all my fanarts at once on my DA account! I wanted to post a message warning friends that due to all this troubles, I may or may not be able to reply to any message/comment yet. But before I could even finish typing that short message, the connection was gone...AGAIN! It's almost comical, actually. *shakes head*

Anyway, here come 2 fanarts. They're not so new anymore but I was internet-less for so long now that I just couldn't post them before.





Well...the 2nd one is my first ByaRen fanart (and actually my first Bleach one as well) and I can't say I'm too happy about it...for many reasons. Most of those has nothing to do with the drawing itself but rather with what I went though in my life when I made it.
It was really painful to force myself to continue with some drawing despite my grief but...it was just not an option for me to give up, back then. It meant way too much for me.
Somehow, it felt like a final loving gesture as much as a way to force myself to accept this loss...and an attempt to forget those awful images that wouldn't get out of my mind. But, god, I think I rarely HATED a drawing with such passion before.

So, this is a mourning artwork of a sort...I'm not sure how I feel about the fact (or the result). I'm not proud of it, artistically-wise eventhough I'm glad I had it finalized, for it really was a needed closure. And there would have been many things I would have liked to say about the drawing itself but it seems so derisory in the end, so...*shrugs*
To be honest, I'm not sure I how I will feel when people comment about this piece on my DA account. To me, it feels shameful to expose such a private thing and, on the other hand, it's just another fanart. There's nothing special about it but my own feelings. It's really some peculiar feeling...

*sighs* I was gone for a long while again.
To tell the truth, I had quite some health problems and, on top of that, big difficulties to draw anything at all. It's quite an annoying fact, considering I was super-motivated to draw before everything has gone to so wrong and now I really have the hardest time to even enjoy drawing...*sigh*

Well, anyway, after many failures, I finally managed to finish two pieces of artwork. It's quite revealing for me to say it's an achievement itself to manage to actually FINISH anything lately! *lol*

First of all, no: I'm not DEAD! ( ___ )
It's been AGES since I gave any proof of life, I know, but I kept drawing stuffs while away so I should be uploading some little things sometimes in the near future.
I was so shocked to see that more people than I thought kept checking my DA account and I have such a poor gallery with what...7 fanarts?! @_@ I HAD to do something! It's such a shame to be so very UNproductive. And slow. (* sigh *)



Anyway, I made a new layout featuring Olivia (plus an icon to go with).
You see, my brother lends me his laptop and the screen resolution is much higher than my usual screen one so I was shocked with the result of my previous layout once seen on this screen. @_@ It made me freak out a little to imagine some people might have seen this wrongly centred ugliness, too.

For designing this one, I spent a ridiculous amount of time working on my header, too much time for this stupid footer (I mean, it's so simple but I tried a thousand of things before coming to this choice) and a whole DAY for the separator (for the same problem as the footer @_@).
How I wish I knew what I was looking for BEFORE starting a project. That would help A LOT, really! *LOL*
Once all the graphic side was settled, I still had to deal with the CSS and all the little bugs with IE. Personally, I use Firefox browser but, you know, many people still use IE so I couldn't let it go while looking so screwed up. So a whole afternoon was needed for debugging, as well. There are still a bug left, though. Oh well~

Anyway, I'm satisfied with the result, for once. The icon looks better than my old one, too. HAPPY!

I was bored and since I don't think I'll be able to draw for a while now I made an "almost ZoSan fanart" that turns to look more like a Sanji one with Zoro's hand as guest-star. ^^ *LOL*

I'm so depressed by the news of BIBLOS bankrupt. I used to buy LOT of manga published by BIBLOS because lot of my favorite yaoi mangaka were under their label (Kodaka Kazuma, Youka Nitta or Yamane Ayano for example).
I hope the authors soon will find new publishers because it certainly is a bit of panic time for them right now (well, they're famous enough to find new publishers quickly but I'm worrying about the not-yet famous mangaka too...).
Is there a problem with manga industry right now? Not so long ago, it was YougYou magazine's turn to announce their shut down...*sad sigh*

On a total different level and subject, I'm SO happy I had really nice and sweet feedback for my first One Piece fanart (Zoro x Sanji)! I was actually surprised I had any! ^^ *coughs in embarrassment*

I read the newest chapter yesterday and...it was really, REALLY NOT the kind of thing to read when feeling down...
The story is taking a more dramatic twist and I have the feeling it's only the beginning of REAL troubles...
Actually, with the few latest chapters, we could feel the story plot getting darker and the characters much deeper. It made me all the more fond of the manga, of course. But I can't help to worry about the characters I like: my fav ones being Hagu and Shinobu (I used to call him 'Morita' like everyone in the manga but I can't anymore now that I've read the chapters about his childhood. He is just SHINOBU now! *LOL* "Shinobu" name suits his characters so very well, by the way).
In this chapter I'm worrying about Hagu the most (obviously enough). For some reasons, I feel very close to her new situation so I wonder how she will deal with things now. Next chapter is waited very impatiently (and with great fears from me).

This new chapter illustration was stunningly beautiful, yet very distressing/revealing(?) since Hagu is drawn like Ophelia in the classic painting themes: her body floating upon waters, amongst scattered flowers...I can't help but be sad at the symbol.
But I couldn't help to make a new icon out of it, still because the colors and drawing were so beautiful and delicate. ^^
